Jeffrey Morisano obtained his master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University, with a school-based certification. He received clinical training in a school setting, clinical settings, and a child advocacy center. He has also completed a certificate in Psychedelic & Religious Studies through the University of Ottawa.
After completing his undergraduate work at the University of Connecticut, Jeff worked in music for a decade while living in California. He brings the creativity he cultivated during those years in music to the therapeutic process along with a judgement-free environment and a compassionate approach to serving clients.
Jeff takes a systemic approach in therapy and attends to the nature of an individual’s role in a family as well an individual’s relationship with larger systems such as school, the workplace, and beyond. He utilizes several modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), structural family therapy (SFT), to address patterns of interaction that constrain systems and internal family systems therapy (IFS) to work with parts in an individual that are restricting the freedom to address underlying issues.
With an eye on the present moment, Jeff views therapy as a collaborative endeavour. He strives to bring change by removing constraints present in daily living as well as by tending to deeply rooted thoughts and behaviors that construct our worlds. Through bearing witness to our own stories from a place of compassion, Jeff believes we can facilitate the process of change and begin to heal.
