Neil received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Connecticut State University with a major in English and a concentration in Cultural Studies. He went on to get his Master's degree in Clinical Counseling at Salve Regina University, with a concentration in Holistic Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
He then completed a one-year internship at The Connection Center for Behavioral Health in Norwich, Connecticut. During his time there, he conducted intake assessments, facilitated weekly group therapy sessions including a Men’s and a Women’s Trauma Recovery group, Recovery Promotion groups, DBT Skills group, as well as three-hour long intensive outpatient groups focused on recovery promotion from substance use.
Neil has a peaceful and compassionate presence with clients, helping them to grow and improve. His theoretical lens is that of person-centered and narrative theory while having an open-minded approach to what is effective for a given client. He believes that therapy is a relationship where the client has the benefit of a space free from judgment, where cultural beliefs and values are explored and honored with someone who is genuinely and compassionately interested in their experience and healthy development.
At the Behavioral Wellness Clinic, Neil specializes in providing Exposure & Response Prevention Therapy for individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Neil is also adept at treating those with depression, anxiety, grief, and supporting recovery from substance abuse.
