Nathaniel earned his Master of Arts in Counseling from the CACREP-accredited Messiah College with a concentration in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy. He also holds a Master of Science in Rehabilitative Sciences from Clarion University and a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Music from Geneva College. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Nathaniel brings extensive clinical experience treating trauma, relationship challenges, PTSD, and family conflict across community mental health, outpatient counseling, higher education, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
His work is rooted in the belief that every individual possesses the capacity for healing when provided with compassionate support, evidence-based treatment, and meaningful human connection.
Trauma & Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Nathaniel specializes in helping individuals recover from traumatic experiences using Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and other evidence-based trauma interventions. His extensive experience working with military veterans, survivors of childhood trauma, and individuals navigating complex life experiences allows him to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.
Veterans & Military Families
Through his work as a Readjustment Counselor with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Vet Center, Nathaniel provides specialized care for combat veterans, service members, and their families. He helps clients address PTSD, combat-related stress, relationship challenges, reintegration, grief, and the emotional impact of military service while fostering resilience and renewed purpose.
Couples & Family Therapy
With advanced training in Marriage and Family Therapy, Nathaniel helps couples and families improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen attachment, and navigate conflict using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy, and family systems approaches.

Nathaniel has extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and families impacted by trauma, behavioral concerns, school-related stress, and developmental challenges through collaborative, family-centered treatment.
Nathaniel’s clinical work is supported by extensive advanced training in trauma treatment, attachment, and family systems therapy. He has completed specialized education in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC), Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), suicide prevention, childhood traumatic grief, and complex trauma treatment. His commitment to lifelong learning ensures that clients receive care grounded in the latest evidence-based practices.
In addition to his clinical work, Nathaniel has served as an adjunct university instructor, teaching future professionals in rehabilitation and human services while remaining actively involved in clinician education and mentorship. His background as an educator reflects his passion for helping others develop the knowledge and skills needed to thrive.

Outside of the therapy room, Nathaniel is an accomplished musician and guitar instructor who has volunteered with Guitar4Vets, teaching veterans living with PTSD and readjustment challenges. His appreciation for creativity, connection, and lifelong learning reflects his belief that healing can occur in many forms.
